Seller Standards

Version 1 · Effective date: October 26, 2026

These Standards are the working rules for selling on Aloop: how a sold piece ships, and what may and may not be listed. They form part of our Seller Agreement (section 2.2), and the Agreement's terms govern where they speak to the same thing. They change as section 3 describes.

1. Shipping rules

1.1 Ship each sold piece by the ship-by date shown on the order, with the prepaid tracked label Aloop provides, from the ship-from address you registered with us. The rest of what you must do is in Seller Agreement section 7.

1.2 Some protections depend on the order's value, which is the item price before shipping and tax:

Item priceWhat applies
Under $500A tracked label.
$500 or moreSignature on delivery.
$1,000 or moreSignature on delivery. You also photograph the piece and its packaging before you ship, and pack it in a rigid box (Seller Agreement section 7.3); this is the "photo threshold".
$2,500 or moreAll of the above, and Aloop reviews the order before it ships. Ship it only after we tell you the review is complete.

1.3 Signature is added to the label for you; you do not choose it.

2. Prohibited and Restricted Items

2.1 Prohibited. You may not list:

2.2 Restricted. These may not be listed at present: investment bullion (bars, rounds and ingots); loose coins, including collectible coins; loose precious metal and scrap sold by melt value; loose gemstones sold on their own; and pieces marketed as an investment or store of value. A coin permanently set in a wearable piece is ordinary jewelry and is not restricted. We may later allow a restricted kind of item subject to review before it is shown.

2.3 Where a piece can be delivered. A piece that is not solid precious metal cannot be delivered to Minnesota, and a buyer is told before they pay.

2.4 These rules add to Terms of Service section 11 and to the representations in Seller Agreement section 5. We decide, in our discretion, what may be listed on Aloop.

3. Changes to these Standards

3.1 We may change these Standards at any time. Each version carries a version number and effective date.

3.2 A change that reduces your rights or adds to your obligations — for example, a lower value threshold in 1.2, or a newly prohibited kind of item — takes effect at least 7 days after we tell you by email or in the app. Any other change takes effect when posted. If you keep listing or selling after a change takes effect, you accept it.

3.3 Most changes to these Standards are not material, and you do not need to accept them. Whether a change is material is judged by its effect under Seller Agreement section 17.1, as for any other change: one that materially reduces your rights or adds to your obligations is given the notice, and asks for the acceptance, that section requires. A change never applies to an order placed before it takes effect, and if a change prohibits a piece you already have listed, we may remove the listing, but having listed it before the change is not a breach.
